Rosaline Valain was a pureblooded witch that mastered in charms, hexes and divination. She married Thomas Yune while he was on leave but retook her maiden name when she opened Liania with the three other founders. A very proper lady, she was said to be almost robotic in the way she interacted with her husband. Cold.

Elizabeth Mio was a halfblooded witch and the best friend of Rosaline Valain. When Rosaline married Yune, Elizabeth married Vollys so that she wouldn't be left behind. One of the favorite teachers of the very first students of Liania, she was renowned for her kindliness and underlying sadness.

[Ivy Roberts]

Physical Description: 16 year old Ivy is tall and gangly, about 5'10" although she tries to stoop to make herself appear shorter. Years of running track, especially hurdles, have given Ivy a streamlined figure. In fact she believes she looks like a boy and laments this. She has tried to counteract her boyish figure by growing her golden-brown hair to waist length. Ivy considers her gray-green eyes her nicest feature and in a moment of extreme girliness, cut her hair into bangs so that her eyes would be framed.

Birthdate: October 16, 1988

Personality: Ivy is NORMAL!!! Well, that's what she tells herself, anyway. She just does not accept that fact that she is anything but normal. But through it all, Ivy's a good person. When Ivy is relaxed, she's a great joker, possessing a dry wit and a quick smile. When she's stressed however, Ivy can be a little...intense. Controlling is what her brother MacArthur would say. There are times when Ivy needs things done HER way and no one else's. But Ivy always calms down fairly quickly and then it's back to laughing and joking.
Ivy is a smart girl and works hard, but this is mainly due to her father's influence. In fact she can get a little obsessive when it comes to pleasing her father. She was meant to go to West Point military academy, but when the family found out she was a witch, those plans were scrapped. She still feels that she is somehow a failure in the eyes of her father and so works extra hard to try to please him.

Ivy comes from an interesting family. Her father is a Colonel in the United States Army and her mother is an aging hippie. Ivy's family is the prime example of opposites attract. Eric and Eileen met during a Vietnam War protest when they were on opposite sides. Eileen's winsome looks and free spirit won Eric over and after he returned from duty in Vietnam, they married. Eric is a career military officer and her mother is a potter. Eileen became pregnant with her first child in 1976 and she decided to let Eric have the privilege of naming their first born. Eric named the boy MacArthur Grant Roberts, after Eric's favorite military generals. Eileen vowed to never let Eric name another child. Eileen named the second child born Orion Moon. Well, Eric wasn't the happiest about his second son's name so when Eileeen became pregnant again, Eric was determined that he would get the privilege of naming his third son. When that third son ended up being a girl Eric and Eileen came to a compromise and named their daughter Ivy Joan Roberts, incorporating Eileen's love of flower child names and Eric's pride in military history.
Each of the Roberts children were slated to follow in their father's footsteps, by attending West Point Academy and then serving in the military. Mac was the first to go. He took to the military and is now a staff sergeant. Orion on the other hand, fought tooth and nail to keep from going to the Academy. In the end, Eric relented and Orion followed his dream into law school. He's now a first year associate in a high powered New York law firm. Ivy was looking forward to West Point as a child until odd things started to happen. One morning, her mother found her floating four feet in the air in the kitchen. Ivy had wanted to get her favorite cereal from a high shelf and had just willed herself to get it. The family just decided to ignore that incident. She started her six grade year and joined the track team. Everything was normal until one track meet. She was running the hurdles and seemed to be flying over them. In fact, she was floating over them. Luckily only her family noticed Ivy's levitation. Shortly after that track meet she received a letter from Salem Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Massachusetts, USA. Ivy was a witch, and West Point was out of the question. Her father took it hard for a long time, it had seemed that Ivy had had the most potential to be an officer. Now Ivy was going to a "crack-pot" school as her father called it. Eventually, with the help of Eileen, Eric warmed to the idea of Ivy attending Salem Academy. Ivy started Salem at age 11 and has been there for the past five years. Salem has established an exchange program with Liania and Ivy was chosen as the one to go.
Ivy misses her family greatly. Her brothers are over-protective of their littlest sister and so Ivy has never really had a boyfriend. Most guys are scared off by brothers that are over six feet tall and have military physiques. Ivy can get a little frustrated with her brothers, who apparently believe that they know what's best for her. She's been spoiled by her brothers and has her father wrapped around her little finger.

Physical Description: Lucia has long, silver blonde hair, which reaches her waist, and grey/green eyes.She is tall and slender, with high cheek bones and a refined bone structure. Her skin is creamy and pale, since in her world, it is a sign that you are a 'labourer' if your skin was tanned.

Personality: Lucia is french, meaning she enjoys the finer things in life. Food, art, music, and dance. She is refined, and understated. She does not fear death, she has been brought up with it factoring in her life. She is a a bit snob, something that has been ingrained in her since birth, and she can be malicous to those she dislikes, and predjudiced.

However, she is also loyal to those who gain her trust (not an easy task) and she is brave (when it suits her). She has been raised to become a debutante in pure blood society, so her etiquette and her manners are immaculate. She is vain, and very proud, something that shows in her posture. She does not lack in confidence, and always walks with her head held high. She is intelligent, and works hard. She dislikes muggles and muggle borns, but unless they trouble her, she will ignore them and expect them to extend the same courtesy to her. If, someone ever threatens herself, her friends or her family, she will kill them, no hesitation. Her motto is 'There are many people in the world that will jump at the chance to kill you. Make sure they don't get that chance.'

Lucia is however, beginning to loosen about about lots of things. Before she came to Liania, she would never have dreamt of sitting cross legged in public (how unladylike!) but she is slowly relaxing regarding lots of things. Life is softening her, and whereas before, she was slightly standoffish around people, she is now beginning to be more friendly and outgoing.

Physical Description: Desdemona has striking brunette hair, however when you look closer you discover that her hair is made up of lots of higlights and lowlights in the colours red, purple, brown and the odd black strand, her hair is natural, much to the disoppointment of many people.
She has large green eyes, set of by long, elegant black eyelashes. Her lips are very red and full. Her cheekbones are high, and her skin has a natural glow to it.
She is petite, only 5'1", however she is curvy in all the right places, and looks older and more womanly than she is.

Personality: Desdemona is a flirt, she enjoys partying and general fun, however she knows how to behave. She is also very vain. Desdemona has been tutored since the age of four. She knows complex magick and curses, she also learnt etiquitte from the age of three. She has mixed with her fathers business partners and knows how to behave. She also knows how to murder them and has provided the poison for her father on numerous occasions. She feels no remorse over these killings, as she often says "I'd rather those men were dead than my father"
However Desdemona is a nice person, she is loyal and sticks by her friends. She is quite predudiced and she left her previous school (hogwarts, where she was a slytherin) because her house was looked down upon. She is very interested in Dark Magic as she feels that it is pure and natural and she dispises people who are narrow minded enough to feel that it is evil. She finds magical jokes stupid and a waste of time. She is hugely ambitious, but will always make time to have fun.

Nasser has short dark brown/black hair that is quite messy in a neat way, it is usually is gelled up into a modern style (that he cherishes, it is never to be messed up) and he has dark grey eyes that are like puddles of silver in the right light. In his left ear he has a diamond stud that reflects the light. He has a medium toned stomach and he is 6”3 in height.

Personality:
Nasser’s mind is set heavily on modern styles so everything he does and thinks about is how he looks to other people, he is vein and classed as cool. He has many friends but most of them are girls. Although he has many friends he prefers to be quiet. Nasser is smart and hardworking although he would rather not know the answers to some of the things he knows. Nasser is nice to his friends but to people who choose to challenge him, he is nasty to. He expects people to know that he will get what he wants when he wants, if he chooses something he wants he will work for it no matter what. The last thing he would ever think of doing is giving up unless he is truly defeated.

Physical Description: Biana has long blonde wavy pale hair that reaches down her back, but she usually wears it down or puts it into a bun at the back of her head. She has blue eyes that are usually full of sorrow. She is frail but still quite strong at times and is thin. She is 5’3”.

Personality: Biana is quite happy as she needs to be; she has Leukaemia and soon will die. The months after she was diagnosed she seemed to be depressed, no body could cheer her up. Knowing that she was going to die, she soon got over it and decided to look up on life instead of down. Biana is not vein as she doesn’t really like what reflects back at her in a mirror, a pale girl who looks bony. Although she looks frail she is very strong willed and will not give up. Some people avoid her because they know she will die soon. So she only has a few friends. She is kind, nice and cheerful around every one to hide away her sorrows. She likes to have partys and doesn’t always focus on things.
